Visit your health care provider about four to six weeks after delivery for a postpartum checkup. At this appointment, he or she will check to see that your uterus has returned to its pre-pregnancy size and location, and that any perineum tearing or incision has healed properly.

Take this time to discuss your questions. Resuming sexual relations and family planning are two subjects you might want to talk about.
