The Story of Menstruation, Then and Now

Disney^® and Kotex^® began having the talk in 1946, and decades later, the talk continues. The original Disney^® film taught approximately 105 million American students about menstruation.

That was then. Today, Kotex^® encourages moms to have the talk with their daughters. Moms need to have these conversations earlier than most people would expect because many girls get their period as young as 8.

When a girl gets her first period, it’s a big step toward becoming a grown-up, and your daughter will have a better experience if you give her the facts. So, pick your day. Find something you can do together and tell her what to expect.
