Five Vacations Every Woman Should Take

Besides being a nice escape from our everyday lives, traveling is a wonderful way to become a more well-rounded person, because it allows you to experience the way others live. The five types of vacations below are vastly different. But each one will give you a new perspective of yourself and the world around you.

  1. The Adventure Vacation
This type of trip will have you stepping out of your comfort zone … a lot. Head someplace where hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and other pulse-raising activities are easy to come by. Instead of staying in a hotel, try camping out. By roughing it and taking on such adrenaline-pumping feats, you’ll see a side of yourself you never knew was there.
  2. The Indulgence Vacation
Spa treatments, room service and gourmet cuisine are all on the menu during this trip. Book a room at a swanky resort, get a daily massage, and sample the finest foods and wines. The point is to invigorate all your senses, rejuvenate your spirit and return home feeling like well-rested royalty.
  3. The Typical Tourist Vacation
Strap the camera ’round your neck, hop on the double-decker bus and snap away. On this trip, you’ll want to cram in all the landmarks, tours and photos you can. Go someplace you’ve read about or seen on TV. Learn about the history and the people there. Partake in their traditions and try the local dishes. In the end, you’ll have some truly amazing memories, not to mention a very impressive scrapbook.
  4. The Act Your Shoe Size Vacation
Whether you take the kids along or not, consider this trip as your second childhood. Forget all the stresses of work and your adult life, and head to a theme park where you can ride rides, play games and go for a swim. When you take a vacation with kid glasses on, you see things in a whole new light.
  5. The Staycation
On this trip, stay at a nice hotel, eat at restaurants you’ve never tried before, go shopping at a new mall and get tickets to a show … no more than 15 miles from your house. The point is to see a side of your city you’ve never seen before, so that when your trip is over, you’ll have a brand new appreciation for your hometown.
